BetMGM Poker review: a tournament-night room with a thin cash-game pool
BetMGM Poker serves New Jersey, Michigan and Pennsylvania on a shared network. We checked traffic snapshots, stakes, bonus terms and app ratings to see if grinders can find games outside tournament nights.
Our verdict
BetMGM Poker is a competent, stable room for tournaments, with 70+ daily events and a monthly $100,000 guarantee. For cash-game grinders it is thin: one reviewer counted 534 players at 286 tables on a Sunday night, and the pool is split by state-level sharing. The 100% bonus needs 14x the deposit in points inside seven days.
Best for: Recreational tournament players in NJ, MI or PA, not full-time cash grinders

The question with any US poker room is simple: will there be a game when you sit down? For BetMGM Poker, the answer depends heavily on the hour and the format. We did not play a session for this review. We used the app listing, a counted traffic snapshot from Action Network and PokerNews' Michigan guide, and we label each number with its source.
One network, three states
BetMGM Poker is licensed in New Jersey (launched August 2017), Michigan (March 2021) and Pennsylvania (April 2021). It shares liquidity with Borgata Poker and partypoker on the same network. PokerNews says Michigan joined the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement in April 2025, which pools its players with New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Each state has its own app listing, and the Pennsylvania page is the one pictured at the top of this review. It is rated 4.3 from about 3,000 ratings and weighs 704.3 MB, which is heavy. The listing says "PA Only", mentions Fast Forward Poker and daily tournaments, and gives an age rating of 18+ even though the text says you must be 21 or older.
The traffic snapshot that decides the review
Action Network's counted figure is the one number we can lean on. On a Sunday at 9:30 p.m. ET, it found 534 players seated at 286 tables. That sounds healthy until you divide it across stakes, formats and three states. A $0.01/$0.02 table and a $25/$50 table are both on the menu, but we would not count on the high end filling. The snapshot is one evening, so treat it as a sample, not a trend, and open the lobby at the hour you actually plan to play before you deposit.

Action Network itself says the room attracts mainly recreational players through low-stakes cash games and cheap tournaments. For a grinder, that is a mixed message. Soft games are good. Few tables outside prime time are not. The formats are No-Limit Hold'em, Fixed-Limit Hold'em, Pot-Limit Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo.
So, to the question we were given: outside tournament nights, the pool is big enough for casual play and stakes up to mid-level, but not for a player who needs a full game list at 2 a.m. on a Tuesday.
Tournaments are the real product
More than 70 daily multi-table tournaments run with buy-ins from $0.25 to $535. The Sunday $30K guaranteed event costs $215, and Action Network counted 177 entrants at late registration. Michigan and Pennsylvania get the same event with a $25,000 prize pool. A $5 NLH with $400 guaranteed drew 80. Once a month, 6-Figure Sunday offers a $100,000 prize pool for a $1,000 buy-in.

PokerNews calls the app stable and easy on the eye, with clean multi-tabling and straightforward registration. Android users are less happy. Action Network's July 2025 figures show 3.3 to 3.4 on Google Play across the three states against 4.0 to 4.2 on iOS.
Bonus, rake and getting paid
The welcome bonus is a 100% match on a first deposit of $10 to $1,000, with tournament tickets worth $25 to $75 depending on the deposit. Pennsylvania gets a $25 bonus instead of tickets. The catch: cash releases in 10% increments, and clearing takes 14x the deposit in Rewards Points within seven days of registering. That is hard if you only play a few hours a week.

Every $100 of rake earns 500 Rewards Points and 500 Tier Credits. Withdrawals follow a review period of up to five days, then Casino Cage in 10 to 12 hours, Visa, PayPal or Play+ within 24 hours, online banking in two to four business days and a mailed check, New Jersey only, in 7 to 21.
Work through the bonus maths before you accept. A $100 deposit asks for $1,400 in Rewards Points inside a week, and at 500 points per $100 of rake that means a large amount of play at once. We could not confirm from the sources what happens to the unreleased portion when the week ends, so read the terms first. A smaller deposit that you can realistically clear is often the sensible choice.
Who should sit down
Play BetMGM Poker if you live in New Jersey, Michigan or Pennsylvania, enjoy low-stakes tournaments and already use MGM Rewards. Look elsewhere if you need deep cash traffic at all hours. Poker has skill in it, but rake and variance still take a toll, and no site changes that. Set a deposit limit before you register, and call 1-800-GAMBLER if play becomes a problem.
