PlayNow review: the provincial casino of BC and Manitoba, with fewer extras
PlayNow is the government-run online casino for British Columbia and Manitoba, with slots, live tables, poker and bingo under one login. We went through its lobby and promotions to see where it beats private sites and where it trails.
Our verdict
A safe, government-backed home for casino, poker, bingo and lottery in one account, with strong responsible gambling tools and a long track record. It loses points for bonuses that come and go (both casino welcome offers had expired on Oct 29, 2026 when we looked), a live dealer lobby smaller than private rivals, and banking that is narrower than its competitors. Good if trust matters most, ordinary if you want variety.
Best for: BC and Manitoba players who want a regulated, one-login casino

The honest headline on PlayNow is that it is a utility, not a thrill. The provincial lottery corporation runs it, it holds your casino, poker, bingo and lottery play in one account, and it behaves like a public service. The weak spot is the offer side: when we checked the promotions page on November 6, 2026, both casino welcome bonuses carried an expiry date of October 29, 2026. We rate it 7.0.
We did not fund an account for this review, so we have no withdrawal test of our own to report. This piece draws on the live site pages we captured and on published reviews, named as we go.
What you see first
The home page leads with lottery: Buy Tickets and Winning Numbers come before any slot. The casino page, shown at the top of this review, opens with a region selector strip, then a large banner for a slot, then a row of featured games. A grey box underneath tells you plainly that quick, repeated betting can lead to problems.

That warning placement is the first thing that separates a provincial site from a private one. Private brands tuck the reminder into the footer. Here it sits above the games.
The tabs read My Games, New Games, Featured, All Games, Slots, Live Casino and Jackpots. A search box sits to the right. Navigation across the whole site is Lottery, Casino, Sports, Poker and Bingo, which is the clearest sign of what you are buying: an all-in-one counter.
The library, and where it thins out
DeucesCracked counts more than 600 games, of which over 400 are slots, with 15 or more blackjack variants and 8 or more roulette variants. We could not verify that count from the site itself, so take it as a third-party estimate. A blog review lists NetEnt, IGT, Novomatic, Big Time Gaming, WMS, Bally and Scientific Games among the suppliers.
Live dealer is the thinner section. Both sources describe blackjack, roulette and baccarat and no more, and DeucesCracked calls the lobby smaller than Canada-wide private sites, with fewer game show titles. If live tables are your main interest, that matters.
Poker and bingo carry more weight than usual
Most casino reviews skip poker. PlayNow is a place where it deserves a paragraph, because Texas Hold'em is a real product here for BC and Manitoba players.

The promotions page lists a $15,000 Rake Race, PXP+ rewards, a Bad Beat jackpot for losing with quad eights or better, and a new $10 freeroll every hour. A rake race rewards volume, so only regulars will clear a leaderboard.
Bingo is an overlooked strength.

The promotions page lists guaranteed games of $25, $50, $250 and $500, with Suite 75 and Stardust rooms and a two-for-one game every day. Guaranteed means the operator tops up the prize if tickets fall short, so these are not pot-limited rooms.
The bonus problem

New players get a welcome section that says to check back later. The two casino items shown had ended: a deposit match up to $1,500, and a $150 live casino sign-up bonus, both expired October 29, 2026. Wagering rules were not given on the page. An earlier blog review mentions a C$100 offer that required C$500 of play, but that is a past version, so do not count on it.
Bonuses here are also smaller than at private rivals, according to DeucesCracked. A match bonus is still not free money. You must wager before you can withdraw, and the house edge keeps working while you do.
Money in and out
Reports agree on the broad shape: Interac Online and debit cards for deposits, credit cards blocked, withdrawals to your own bank. They disagree on PayPal, with one review listing it and another saying it is missing. Check the cashier before relying on it. Withdrawals take 1 to 3 business days in both accounts, with up to 5 depending on the bank.
That is slower than the instant e-wallet cashouts some private sites advertise, and quicker than a cheque. Winnings are tax-free for recreational players in Canada, which DeucesCracked lists as a benefit.
Who should use it
Choose PlayNow if you live in BC or Manitoba, want one regulated account for several products, and value tools like deposit limits, cool-off periods from 24 hours to 6 months and self-exclusion from 6 months to 5 years. Poker and bingo regulars get more here than at most casino-first sites.
Look elsewhere if you want the biggest live dealer lobby, frequent bonuses or PayPal speed. Whatever you pick, the house edge always applies, and the games are built to lose money over time. If play stops being fun, call the BC Problem Gambling Help Line at 1-888-795-6111.
