BetMGM Casino Review: Big Library, Fine Print Still Matters

BetMGM runs one of the largest game libraries in regulated US gaming. We read the app listing, the offer terms and the cash-out rules to see whether the size comes with fair bonus and withdrawal terms.

Our verdict

BetMGM has the deepest catalogue of any regulated US casino we looked at, plus exclusive slots and a polished iPhone app rated 4.7 from about 148,000 reviews. The catch is the usual one: the welcome offer carries wagering that varies by state, and we could not independently confirm cash-out speeds. Read the offer terms before you deposit.

Best for: Players in a licensed state who want maximum game variety

If a casino is going to disappoint you, it usually happens in one of two places: the bonus you cannot clear or the withdrawal that takes a week. BetMGM is large enough that both deserve a direct look, so that is where this review starts. The short version: the game library is excellent, the app is well made, and the bonus maths is only as good as the terms your state attaches to it.

A note on method. BetMGM's own website refused our capture tool (HTTP 403), so the pictures here come from the App Store listing and Apple's public data. For this review we did not run a timed cash-out test, and we say so wherever a claim depends on one.

What you are actually getting

BetMGM is a joint venture built around MGM Resorts, the company behind Bellagio and MGM Grand. That matters for one reason: it is a licensed casino brand with physical properties to protect, which is a different risk profile from an offshore site.

The iPhone app is listed as free, published under the seller name BetMGM, LLC. At the time of writing it showed a 4.7 average from roughly 148,000 ratings, and version 26.10.16 had been released on 26 October 2026. A rating that high across that many reviews is rare for a gambling app. Ratings measure the software, not your results, and nothing here suggests you will win.

The listing leads with "Hundreds of Real Money Slots" and "Games You Can't Play Anywhere Else". The second claim is the one worth testing against the lobby on the day you join, because exclusives rotate. In the screenshot the lobby is organised in horizontal shelves, such as new slot games and top exclusives.

The welcome offer, done as arithmetic

The offer changes by state and by month, so we will not quote one figure as fact. Several affiliate sites cite a 15x playthrough on a matched bonus. We could not confirm that on BetMGM's own terms, so treat it as a lead. What we can do is show what any playthrough means in money.

Take a $100 bonus with 15x wagering. You must stake $1,500 before the bonus converts to cash. If the games you play carry a 4% house edge, the expected cost of clearing is $1,500 x 0.04 = $60. In plain terms, you should expect to give back more than half the bonus just by playing it through. High-volatility slots can swing well above or below that, which is why some players clear and many do not.

Two terms decide whether an offer is worth taking:

  1. Game weighting. Slots usually count 100% toward clearing. Blackjack and roulette typically count far less, so a table-game player may need many times the stake.
  2. Expiry. Bonus funds that sit unused for a set number of days vanish. Check the number in your state's terms.

If you do not want the strings, you can deposit and play without opting in. That is a legitimate choice.

Withdrawals: what we could and could not verify

Speed depends heavily on the method, and every operator's published range comes with a warning that internal review and identity checks come first. For contrast, the Racing Post's UK review of BetMGM reports PayPal payouts in 24 to 48 hours and cards in three to five business days. That is the UK site, not the US one, so it is a reference point only.

What we recommend you do, and what we would do ourselves: complete identity verification right after sign-up, before you win anything. Most delays in this industry come from a document check that starts at the moment of the first cash-out. Then request a small first withdrawal and note the date and the time it lands.

A practical check before you join: open the offer page in your state and write down four numbers, the match percentage, the maximum bonus, the wagering multiple and the expiry in days. If any of the four is missing from the page, treat the offer as unclear and skip it. Offers that are easy to read are usually easier to clear.

Who should play it, and who should not

BetMGM suits a player in a licensed state who values variety and a stable app, and who is comfortable setting a deposit limit up front. It is a poor fit if you want to chase a bonus using table games, if you live outside the licensed states, or if you are looking for a way to make money. The house edge applies to every spin and every hand, and the library's size does not change the long-run result.

Tools that matter more than any promotion: deposit limits, session reminders and self-exclusion. Use them from day one. If gambling stops being fun, contact the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-GAMBLER.
