Sun Bingo review: 20+ rooms and a £10 welcome offer with a catch

A newspaper name on a bingo site makes people expect gimmicks, so we looked for the money questions first. Sun Bingo's welcome choice is better than most: £10 buys either 50 free spins with no wagering or a £40 bingo bonus at 4x. The rest of the promotions page is the usual tangle of opt-ins and minimum stakes. We rate it 6.9.

The £10 welcome choice, read slowly

The wording on the promotions page is precise, and it rewards a slow read. A first deposit of £10 or more must be made by debit card only. Then you pick one route.

Route one: stake £10 on slots for 50 free spins on selected games, with no wagering, a three day expiry and acceptance within 48 hours. Route two: stake £10 on bingo for a £40 bingo bonus at 4x wagering, expiring in seven days and acceptable within seven days. Both end on January 31, 2027.

Do the sum on the second route. A £40 bonus at 4x means £160 of bingo play before it counts as withdrawable. Tickets can be 10p, so that is reachable, but the clock runs for a week. The spins carry no wagering, yet they last three days and whatever they win still reflects the house edge.

Twenty rooms, but only some of them matter

The bingo page says there are 20+ rooms, covering 75-ball, 80-ball and 90-ball games, specials and video bingo.

The 90-ball section holds the traditional British hall games, with three rows and nine columns per ticket. Named rooms include Age of the Gods, Spirit Twister, Fluffy Favourites and Deal or No Deal Bingo 75. The cheapest entry we saw was Winning Headlines Bingo, a 36-ball game from 10p that the site says pays up to 1,000x the stake.

Think about what 1,000x on a 10p ticket means. It is a headline prize, not an expectation, and almost every ticket in that game will lose.

Free bingo and the "stake to earn" pattern

Candy Free Bingo runs from November 2 to 30, starting at 7:30pm, with prizes advertised as minimum guarantees per session. The terms say it is part of an ongoing schedule.

Other bingo offers work differently. One gives up to 60 free tickets, plus 10 for opting in, for the £75,000 November Championship on November 28, but you must stake £10 or more in cash on bingo to earn them. Another gives 6 to 30 All Star Mega Bingo tickets for a weekly stake of £10 to £50, delivered the following Monday around 9pm.

None of that is a trick, but all of it is a nudge to play more. Opt in first, because tickets that arrive without opting in do not count.

The games page carries many Exclusive and New tags. The Delivery Rewards Wheel is described as free to play daily for cash, spins and more, but it needs a £10 deposit and £25 staked on casino games in the previous 28 days. Treat it as a loyalty perk, not a reason to join.

Support, safer play and the small print

The top menu puts Safer Gambling next to Promotions, which is a sensible place for it. Every offer line ends with the 18+ marker and a GamCare or GambleAware link, so the reminders are hard to miss. A third-party review we read says phone support runs from 10am to 10pm daily. We could not confirm that on the site itself, so check the help pages before you rely on it.
